The tikit

The Bike Friday "tikit" is a convenient solution to an inconvenient truth. Bike Friday takes global climate change seriously. The tikit is built to accomplish a mission "More people on bikes, fewer cars, and a clean and healthy future for all. Say no to oil."

Being Bike Friday, of course they are designed to fit, ride great, and be fun too while "walking the talk" and acting "serious" about global climate change. The "tikit" is designed to be used as an inter-modal transportation solution. It can be folded in under 5 seconds (literally) in its Hyper folding version and taken on the train, bus, subway, taxi, elevator or under your desk at work. Neither bike requires re-adjustment on fold-out either. They fold-out as fast as they in-fold.

This is very unlike many folders that require setting up your saddle and handle bar heights every time! The "tikit" comes in 2 STOCK models in 3 sizes each. No one-size-fits-all here! The folded bike is 27x14x38 and 25 lbs.

The stock "Model 'T' tikit" is a fast (under 12 second) Impulse folder that has only one twist-locking fastener. The stock "tikit 2 ride" has a "Hyper folding" jaw dropping 5 second fold that some do in 2-3 seconds! Touch and fold!

The "tikit" is also, in Bike Friday tradition, available in Built-to-Order / Custom with options on 4 different base equipment configurations. There is the 8 speed ("Just the tikit"), a fixed gear single speed ("One Way tikit"), a light 9 speed sporty style ("Express tikit") and a wide range 24 speed ("Travel tikit"). The Built to Order "tikits" allow you to choose your color (over 20 choices) and is built for you to your personal size.

There are optional accessories for the "tikit" including a first! The integrated "Transit Cover" bag that attaches and rides on the main frame permanently. It is able to quickly cover the folded bike and turn it into a little black package no one would guess is a bike! (A French Horn maybe but not a bike.) Great for getting past the doorman who doesn't allow bikes in your apartment building. There is also a front rack and several bags with more racks, bags, and accessories becoming available all the time.
